Lawn Dethatching
Have you noticed your lawn become soft and spongy over time? Lawns will naturally accumulate a layer of dead grass and other organic matter called thatch.
There are many problems associated with thatch, such as
- Prevents water, air, and nutrients from reaching the root zone. This results in poor root growth and an unhealthy lawn.
- Thatch is a favourable environment for fungal diseases to grow.
- Creates a spongy surface that is susceptible to scalping when mowing.
Dethatching is the process of removing this layer. Dethatching is typically done with a specialised tool called a scarifier or verti mower, which uses vertical blades to remove the thatch from the lawn.
Dethatching is a very labour intensive service that produces a surprising amount of green waste.
Our dethatching service consists of –
- Removal of lawn thatch.
- Mowing to reset the height of the lawn.
- Applications of high-quality fertiliser, wetting agents and soil amendments in order to stimulate the growth of a beautiful new lawn.
- Green waste disposal.
